| COOLING |
| Cooling your greenhouse is as important as heating it if you plan to use it all through the summer. Installing a wet pad Evaporate Cooler will lower the inside temperature 20 to 30 degrees more than it would normally be. With a reasonable amount of shading, plant watering can be reduced to a minimum. Orchids and most other plants thrive on the cool humid air that is circulated throughout the greenhouse. |

| HEATING |
| In most sections of the country you will need heat for your greenhouse during the colder months, but heating costs will be considerably less than you expect. During the day the sun will supply most of the heat needed and your only heat requirement will be at night. In southern states costs can be less. |

In northern areas costs will generally be higher and, of course, actual costs vary upon the size of your greenhouse and the temperature needed for the type of plants you intend to grow.

JANCO recommends a separate heating plant for your greenhouse. However, an extension of your hot water system is practical if your greenhouse is close to or attached to your home.

| VENTILATION |
| Ventilating your greenhouse is as important as heating it. JANCO greenhouses are equipped with a roof ventilator sash, connected to the ridge by a weather-proof hinge extending the full length of the greenhouse.

| Some manufacturers claim partial roof ventilators are sufficient, another claims cross ventilation is enough and still another says fans are best. Actually, full length roof vents, combined with cross ventilation are the best. Fresh outside air is brought in through the sides or ends and the stale hot air is expelled through the roof. This is the system used in large commercial greenhouses and is available to you with every traditional JANCO greenhouse.
